The Sound of Decades
My journey as a DJ began when I was around 4 years old, when I had my first small battery powered record player. I had a few 45s and loved playing them over and over again.
That was it, I was hooked on music but it wouldn't be until the early nineties that I finally had the chance to be a DJ. Armed with my home hifi , a couple of extra hifi speakers and a few borrowed lights I played my first family birthday bash at the local pub.
Watching the dance floor fill as I played song after song was a buzz, people enjoying themselves, they were cheering "more more" wow, what a feeling.
That was it, I had to do this, but in a more professional way. So over the next twenty years I upgraded my equipment and played at countless pubs and wedding venues around the East Midlands, from house parties to pool parties, even in a cafeteria playing background music for staff on their lunch. That was a strange one I must admit.
What joins all of this together is the ability to read a room and make sure the songs and the atmosphere you create works, this is what really matters.
